<p>I was just wondering if the new Common app allows additional recommenders to submit their letters of recommendation online. I have a research adviser who I wish to get a recommendation from, but I don't want him to have to mail in his letter to like 12 different schools. Does the common app allow me to invite him, and then assign his rec to each college? And what about the colleges that don't require and additional one, but when you call them they say that they will accept if you mail it in. Can I submit my rec to those colleges through the app</p>

<p>Just go into Common App, go to my colleges, click a college and go to “assign recommenders.” There are three boxes: counselor, teacher, and other recommender. Go to other recommender and click “Invite Other Recommender.” Not every colleges has this option, but most do. It also tells you how many are required and how many are allowed. For the other colleges you are applying to in CA, just assign his recommendation in “assign recommenender” just like you would a teacher.</p>
