Rising senior, 3.94UW 4.9W, will graduate with 10-AP and 5-AICE, class rank top 6%. In state. We know we have bright futures. What else would be available? What is the cut off for the freshman scholarship? It is worth it to apply to honors, or is SAT too low?
1460 SAT
For the class of 2020, to receive the University Freshman Scholarship - which is $2,400 per year for 4 years - you needed a 4.0 weighted gpa (with no grade less than a B ) and a 31 ACT or 1390 SAT. If you have all As and Bs, with your 1460 SAT you most likely would qualify for the University Freshman Scholarship. Keep in mind they may raise the test score requirement next year based on the overall scores of students who apply for the class of 2021. If you receive the Freshman scholarship you are allowed to apply to the Honors College. The Honors College application also serves as the application for the Presidential Scholarship. Only around 24 students total are chosen for the Presidential scholarship, so it is highly competitive. It would give you another $2,400 a year plus a bunch of fantastic opportunities such as study abroad and research money etc.
@Searching2020 thank you for the info. Sounds like she will definitely qualify for the freshman scholarship. Only 24 for the Presidential Scholarship makes it seem unlikely. Sounds like a great opportunity though.
