I've started the college selection process, and it's kinda hard to pick out perfect schools if you don't know what you want to major in. I'm interested in

-plants and animals
-earth science
-English/literature
-history
-working outdoors
-sailing
-lots of travel

Is there a major/career that fits these criteria? Will I have to double major?

Are you a junior? Don't pick your school for the intended major at this point in the looksee process.

Yes, I agree to an extent...but with even a slight interest in the Earth Sciences I'd be sure that places you are looking into have either an earth science or geological sciences department. Not all schools offer the Earth Science courses.

Edit:

I am a geologist and I must say that geology does fit your criteria well. I get to travel a lot, work outdoors (but also get to work indoors for certain stages of research), and you can cater your interests in biology and history with certain sub-specialties. For example, historcial geologists study the history of the earth, which includes using fossils to trace continents through time. I also know people who are limnologists, who most basically study lakes (the ones I know study recent climate history from lake sediment cores), where you could utilize your passion for sailing.

Again, you are a junior in high school, so keep your options open. Just know that geologists can do a variety of things in the work-place and is a pretty in-demand career (more are retiring than going into it at the moment). Another option would be Environmental Science (stay away from schools that offer only a BA though, a BS is a must for Environmental Science/Studies in the consulting industry.

Thanks for the input. I guess I should have been more specific. I have a lengthy list of colleges that fit my criteria (small-medium, Southeast/Mid Atlantic, suburban, reasonably selective, medium-sized city, etc.). At this point, I'm just trying to shorten my list.

Your originally stated problem was not knowing what you wanted to major in. Perhaps it would help you to brainstorm here on CC with all of these creative minds........say Anthropology for a start.
Travel=check
-plants and animals=check
-earth science=could be
-English/literature=======?????
