I am moving from my mom’s house to my dad’s house in September. I would like to apply to rolling admissions schools as soon as possible. However, I don’t know which address to use in my application. Do I put my current address and then contact the school once I move? Do I put my dad’s address because I’ll soon be living there, and it will be the same address that’s on all of my other applications and the Fafsa? Or do I just wait until after I move to apply?
Just wait until you move. I know you are eager to get started but applying now vs applying in September won’t make any difference. Is your high school even open now to send recommendations and transcripts? if not, your application won’t be complete yet anyway.
If you’re applying to a rolling decision, which I think you are based on an earlier post, it does matter when you apply. I would apply as soon as your counselor/high school has your transcript and everything ready!
It probably only matters if you are changing states, and if in-state tuition is an issue. In that case I would use the most advantageous address. You will be notified by email and via online account status. If not, change the address on you account when you actually move.
Thank you guys! I think I will apply using my dad’s address. If they end up asking questions I can just explain that I was in the process of moving, and hopefully there won’t be any problems.
