Quick question: My old school was really small. And by small I'm talking a senior class with 15 students kind of small. Anyway, during my year and a half there I had pretty much the same teachers throughout my time there. We didn't have formal guidance counselors but "peer counselors". As it happened mine was my math teacher for two years and the coach of our Knowledge Bowl team. I got a B in her class the two years that she taught me, but I always worked really hard and took advantage of every possible opportunity for help. She knows me pretty well as far as school goes, and I'd really like to ask her for a rec letter not as my counselor but as my former math teacher. She could testify to the intense difficulty of my old school, my character and my status as a top student even though we didn't rank. I already have two rec letters lined up from my history teacher and my math teacher from my current school, but I feel it would be a mistake not include her. Would it be okay for me to submit her as an addt'l rec letter? What should I do in this situation? I know adcoms don't like to see extra unnecessary paper too though.
