I’m strongly considering attending Creighton University next year. I’ve visited Creighton only once during the summer, but I don’t know much of the student life and how fun the campus is during the school year. I feel the same way about Indiana University. I think I can make either basketball teams as a walk on (6’5 185). I’m also planning to take honor courses and major in public policy. But because of the expense of these two schools, I would have to work my ass off during the spring and summer to pay off tuition without taking out loans. So I plan to do all this while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in college. Do you guys think these two schools are worth going to base of my plans?
I graduated from IU and it is a great campus and I loved it there. I am a diehard Hoosier basketball fan. Playing for Tom Crean would be the last thing I would encourage unless you are a lock for the NBA after 1-2 years of college. His offense is transition only. The rest of the time, one guy dribbles, one guy waves for the ball, and the other three just stand there waiting for the shot to miss. They win enough games with athleticism to keep him from getting fired and they play decent defense, but IU basketball is not what it used to be (i.e. with Bob Knight). You won’t find a campus more fun than IU but I would go to Creighton if you want to play basketball.
