My S just got an email from the MT Program Coordinator of Shenandoah, which I thought was going to be the normal schedule update/check-in/reminder about his upcoming audition. Instead, it was some very specific feedback based on his prescreen so that he could make adjustments (mostly to his monologue) when he auditions there in 2 weeks! Did anyone else receive this type of email from SU? I haven’t heard of any other school doing this, but I think it’s a great idea and shows a lot of thoughtful consideration on SU’s part.

My daughter received that and I know quite a few others who did, as well. I think she had a song adjustment. She got in, so I guess it worked! ;-)

Yes, D got a change of song and an adjustment to her monologue just 3 days before we flew there… kind of nervous-making, but we got it done! She auditioned Sat, Jan.18 and got an email from MT Program Head Jonathan Flom early on Tues. Jan. 21 that the faculty had voted unanimously to offer her an acceptance. D’s good friend got song adjustments waaaay earlier than D did; friend just auditioned this past weekend and it seemed to go well. Fingers crossed for her!

Same for my S, who received his acceptance email about 1 hour after leaving the campus. Loved Jonathan’s statement in the acceptance email: “I thought it might be nice to dispense with the suspense…”! Wish more schools did both: feedback on the prescreen, and immediate decisions!

I loved the “dispense with the suspense” comment too and also wished all schools did immediate decisions, positive or negative. Sigh…

@ashleybashley how is your daughter liking the program? Did her friend get in as well? I realize you may not be as active on this board now but would love to hear your feedback and advice on the process.
