Okay guys, I want you to tell me the truth. I know I have a lot of work to do, but ever since I was four, I have wanted to get into UF. (Danny boy and the 96 gators. haha)

I am entering my senior year in high school.
I would like to enter their accounting program.

As of now my gpa is a 3.4 (will be increased with the class)
I slacked off my freshman year. However, I am in a dual enrollment program right now. I will either have or be one class away from my A.A. degree when I graduate. UF notified me saying I would restart as a freshman if I got in, and thats fine. College gpa is a 3.0

My SAT's I am working on improving...lets just say I get a 1350+ (before writing) next time.

MY EC's consist of:
Jazz Band for 2 years
Part Time job averaging 25 hours per week
High school ambassador for one year (senior year)
I will be working on joining more EC's as well for my senior year.

I'm going to have 100+ CS Hours when I graduate.

Due to the rigor of college classes, and balancing a work/life/study balance, what are my chances of getting in?
What all else do I need to improve?

Also under the part time job part, I would like to include that many of my paychecks have involved me helping pay some kind of utility (gas, bills) etc as we are low income.

they specifically ask about what you mentioned in your second post, so it could help. calculate your UF gpa and post it. 3.4 with a heavy course load is not necessarily bad at all. colleges usually take into consideration the desire of the student to attend as well, so emphasize that where you can.

as for the clubs, just being in them isn’t very meaningful. they mostly look at clubs to see leadership roles. with that said, it couldn’t hurt to join them if thats not an option anyways.

Well, idk if I did it right. But I took all the letter grades I got in classes and added a .5 for honors and a 1.0 for AP.
IF all my college classes are AP as my guidance counselor has said…
my gpa would calcluate out to a 3.75.

It just clicked for me.
Ever since I was young, I have loved sports.
All my community service hours have been on the football field. Helping with water, chains, coaching, concessions, whatever. (City league nonprofits.)

As my goal is to become an accountant to prepare me for life in the business sector, and hopefully the sports world, can I emphasize that on my essay/admissions?

Let me tally this up.
Only math + english + science + foreign language + social science, right?

Or just every class i’ve taken so far?

My total amount of classes at the end of the first semester of my senior year would be 34. i’ve taken 30 during school, and 4 during the summer for college.

I’ve taken or will have taken:
English 1
English 2
English 3
(below are college level)
Comp 1
Comp2
Lit

Math:

Science:

Political Science (covers government credit)

Foreign Language:
spanish 1
spanish 2.

but before i graduate i will also complete
calculus (college level)
a college level american history

but do i count how many total classes? are just the ones for those core.
thats about it.

those all count. i had similar stats to yours with less core classes, but more sports and was a club president. a greater proportion of mine may have been honors as well.

really, your guess is as good as anyone on here’s as to whether or not you get in.

well i’ll be hopin. i’ll start writin the essay today haha. im going to take the SAT again October 10th. Hopefully the scores will be to me before November 1st, im studying hardcore for it. haha

I also went through and looked at my grades and added .5 to honors and 1.0 to dual enrollment. I’d have around a 3.8

I’m pretty sure the deadline for test scores is sometime in Decembet, so you should be fine. And, with the rigorous courseload, a 3.8 is great. UF will see your challenging yourself.
