Admission Decision

Anyone know when UCI will post admissions decisions? All I've seen is that they will be posted before the end of March. Anything more specific?

Last year UCI rolled out admissions. They had like 3-4 waves that ran throughout March. Some of you will have your admissions decisions posted early March (mine was posted within the first week). All rejections were posted towards the end of March though =. Some people still got accepted on the last day of March.

i'm so scared. :(

mine was posted march 1st. i clearly remember it.. haha

where the people who were admitted the first week invited to join the honors program?

Nah. I was admitted the first week, and I'm just a normy haha.

Wow, March 1st... that's nice that they let you know so early! (or let some people know anyway)

I was informed on March 1st as well. No CHP. =)

To those admitted March 1, are your GPA and SAT scores way above the requirements? Is it save to assume that the ones admitted towards the end of the month are kind of borderline?

i guess you could say my SAT was above average (1890) and my UC gpa.. hm.. i dont really remember what it was haha. but i know that my friend who might be considered as borderline was admitted towards the end.. and i mean, reaaally end.

As I said, I was just a normy. One of my friends got admitted in the second to last week and his stats were way above mine. He also got into UCB. I really don't understand their release methods. Just sit tight and drink some orange soda :].

My SAT was the same as adingbobo's, and my GPA was um... less than spectacular to say the least, haha. My friend had a way higher GPA and a lot more ECs and got her notification the last week. So don't worry about it too much.

Do you think they'll let ELC people know the first week? Since ELC was given guaranteed admission this year there's really no point in putting it off till the last week in March...

The only time ELC will notify you early is if you received automatic admissions into UCI. Other than that, ELC is treated normal. ELC students get an edge in admissions though. Imagine ELC giving you an edge equivalent of a 0.3 boost in your GPA.

^ Sorry, I didn't make that very clear... I do have guaranteed admission to UCI through ELC, I was just wondering if they would they make it "official" sooner by notifying us the first week of March rather than later in the month (since technically ELC people already know they're in...)

^ Whoops, I can't type...

Yea, it should come up right when admissions begins for UCI. Is UCI really taking all the ELC students again this year? You're basically in, and you can surely dispute if you get randomly rejected. Don't worry.

Yeah, this year it was UCI, UCM, UCD, and UCSB

How do they notify you? Through email? Through the MyUCI app site? Mail? I hope it's all electronic!

And do they actual use the MyUCI message center? They notified us to check it regularly... yet no messages thus far (then again, I had all my materials in on time). What do they use it for (besides admissions decision, as I presume they use it for)?

most of the people i knew found out through MyUCI before they found out through snail mail.. but either way.. you eventually get the snail mail notification...
