Admission Envelopes Question

Since supposedly decisions are supposed to come out next week, do the acceptance letters come in big packages? and rejection letters in small envelopes?

The acceptance letters come in big packages, although you'll get an email before saying: "Your admissions decision is availiable online!" and you'll hold your breath and click. Then it's the best feeling in the world. Or an "oh well." But along with the best feeling in the world, you get a video filling you with the pride of the maize and blue. What a moment.

you'll know instantly if your accepted because...

the envelope will be something fancy and not a plain white one.

the envelope will feel thick because of forms and flyers but if your rejected, it
will only have like a 1-page letter.

If you get an email saying that your decision is available online, does that mean you will get accepted? Seems kind of harsh to send an email like that to reject a person.

yeah, UM doesn't care about that... they never even sent me a mailed letter. I got an e-mail sometime in June saying I was rejected.

That's really cold.

you have to remember how many apps they have to deal with. I agree that it may seem a bit rude but it's efficient.

haha, oh, I know. I wouldn't really expect anything different, it should just be in or out, not "sorry... but -." And at any rate, I hopefully will get the e-mail before I have to worry abou the envelope.

SO even deferrals are sent out in those big envelopes?

How confusing!

I'm tempted to disconnect my internet just to get the rush of opening the mailbox. And maybe there will be some netflix movies too!

The rejection letter usually comes much earlier than June. Didn't they send you a deferral letter? To get on an extended waitlist, I thought you have to first agree to be placed on the list ... otherwise they will just reject you.

if you're in the general range don't they not definitely reject you got a while
