Admission for engineering

I know that engineering admission is declared in spring but do they ever give any other notices before that? acceptance to the university (obviously not the department),etc.

Some did last year, just the vast majority in late Feb.

@EngPII so all of it until feb/mar? Even general admission to the university? Do they tell you if you haven’t been accepted?

I need previous years, auto admit students were notified of acceptance but not their major. Has not happened yet this year.

Rejection/CAP/PACE/choose from an open major not notified until late Feb.

Auto admits will find out that they have been admitted to the university beginning any day now. They auto acceptance notifications are slow to go out this year. Last year, it was end of Sept. My niece received hers on Oct. 2 (first Friday in Oct). So far, I have not heard of of a wave going out with auto admit notifications.
Are you an in state auto admit? I can’t recall.
Some people received their major decisions before Dec 1 (auto admit,not review admits) Then, decisions go out in waves for all of the different majors. The majority of auto accepted engineering applicants received their decision the third Friday in Feb., as did many other applicants to other majors.
All Review applicants found out their admissions decisions, PACE, CAP, Waitlist, etc on the third Friday in Feb. .

When the final wave came the third Friday in Feb., People who had not received a decision read on their My Status “Congratulations, you have been admitted to X” major or " We are sorry to inform you that we cannot offer you admissions to UT at this time", blah, blah, blah and then list what they will offer you. Some people get offered PACE, some CAP, some CAP and PACE, and others CAP, PACE, and wait list. Not everyone gets offered wait list. That said, with wait list, you can get in as a full time student, but you only get to choose from open majors and none are in the STEM field, mostly liberal arts.

Last year several students found out the were accepted to UT Liberal Arts honors/Plan II in November… they were not auto admits… probably top 11% but a non-ranking high school.

@Thelma2 In state auto admit.
