Admission into Bristol, Leeds, Aberdeen as an American?

I’m an American student and although I’ve applied to some schools in the USA I’d like to consider some options in the UK. I’ve already been accepted to Keele and Regents Uni London (which I hear is pretty much just a money-gobbler), but I was highly considering to applying to either Bristol, Leeds, OR Aberdeen (no more than 1 since I don’t want to spend a lot more money on scores and application fees).

My question comes with my scores/entry requirements. I have a 31 ACT which I know is good enough to at least be considered for admission. I have a 2060 SAT (670 CR 610 M 780 W) and two SATIIs with Physics (610) and US History (670) and a score of 4 on my AP US History exam. Do these qualify me for admission? I know many UK schools (and I believe two if not all 3 of these schools) want 3 AP exams OR 3 SAT IIs with 700 or above. Are these limits absolute cutoffs or will my application be considered holistically (eg I’ll still have a chance even though I may not have met these requirements).

Also, out of these 3 (for any current students, UK residents, or other experts in the field of intl education in the UK), which is most likely to accept these qualifications. more internationally-friendly, and may offer a better international experience? Thanks!

PS my current order of preference for these three schools are as listed (the same as above): Bristol, Leeds, then Aberdeen.

  1. The application fee is L23 for 5 universities, and you only write one essay that goes to all of them, so it is as easy to apply to several as to one. To be blunt, if the application fee is an issue you probably can't afford to go to university in the UK anyway.
  2. You don't mention what subject you are applying to study, which matters. You have 1 history (you can't double count an AP & a SAT subject test) and 1 science. You don't have enough for Bristol, but you do have enough for Aberdeen:

Couldn’t really tell about Leeds, but since they want 3 As at A level (including a science), for psychology (usually a course whose requirements aren’t too high) I would guess that you would be not have enough.

In general, if a university says that they want something you have to have it. They are not typically holistic.

Glad to see you are expanding your horizons!
