Admission into Harvard is a Divine Process

Het all!

Many will say that admission to college is insignificant in your life, but, however comforting this sounds, it?s not true. College admission is life changing, and anything as significant as life changing must involve Divine powers.

Take, for example, Bill Gates and Paul Allen. If they each went to different universities, Microsoft may very well not have been created. Their would be no Gates foundation, and our lives would, no doubt, would be quite different.

Also, my dad was part of a medical school admissions committee, and he told me that kids who go to the ivy?s get a huge leg up. One guy got mostly B?s, about average MCAT score, but went to Harvard college, and got in the med school, while many other applicants with almost all A?s but from smaller colleges get rejected. I know, since my dad witnessed it.

Additionally, I imagine that going to Harvard boosts you confidence tons, thus making you a better leader.

Going to Harvard is life changing, like getting married, finding a job, and all the other major events. When people say it doesn?t matter, it?s just not true.

The admissions process involves divine processes?often times, kids are rejected simply because of bad luck, and vice versa.

Thus, I don?t wish you good luck. Instead,

LET THE DIVINE POWERS BE WITH YOU!!

(I hope they?ll be with me when I apply next year!)

actually, for me going to harvard does not "boost my confidence tons"

sure, it's great to always have that fallback of "well, i go to harvard" but it's also difficult to keep your confidence so high when you go from being at the top of the pack in high school to being average or below-average at a school like this.

don't get me wrong, i love harvard for so many reasons. i'm just saying that even if you prepare yourself for no longer being the best, it still comes as a shock and calls for some ego deflation...

good luck next year

Do you think you give me some advice? Also, did you think positively about the whole process (Like how those motivational speakers tell you to)?
But when you tell someone where you go, doesn’t it make you feel great? (I would feel good to hear all those “wow’s”)

Ppl that want to drop the H-bomb just for the sake of bragging or strokiong their own ego do not deserve to go to harvard.

i don't really know what kind of advice i can give, or rather what kind of advice you want...
and no, i was actually pretty pessimistic about the whole college admission process, but i guess i got lucky enough to get into my first choice school.
i don't really like it when people emphasize the whole "wow, you go to harvard. you must be a genius!!" thing. it's overkill. i personally don't like being put on the spot like that, but that's just me. i'm sure that there are people who love the extra attention.

do not deserve to go to harvard.

What do you mean, "deserve to go to Harvard"??? As if "Harvard" is some great thing that one can fail to "deserve" due to moral shortcomings...ugh...

i agree with jimbob

lol at the OP who said going to Harvard gives you confidence which makes you a better leader. Angela (Harvard grad) just got fired on the Apprentice for not leading when she was the project manager. Yes, I watch that crappy show.

And I think more people are going to verbally flip you off than say "wow" if you drop the "H-bomb", so be careful what you wish for, OP!

What exactly does it mean to "drop the H-bomb"?

I think it means to use "Harvard" and the connotation of the name for an advantage, but every time I see it I think of actual hydrogen bombs and it somewhat depresses me. Or not depresses...rather...it makes me want another name for this thing we are referring to.

I just realized that the OP's name is "The God" and s/he is referring to a divine process! Imagine that...

Squiggle88, I am just curious, how many AP’s did you take? I’m taking 8 this year, and I’m if that would be enough.
Thanks a lot for caring!

Also, guys, don’t you think it’s sad that your high school performance could determine your life?

Also, does anyone know why all those motivational speakers tell you to think positive? Could it help you get into college? Will the Divine Powers help you?
Thanks fellars!

To "drop the H-bomb" means to tell people you attned or graduated from Harvard.

Actually, most people I know find it uncomfortable to do so in social situations; it could be awkward. Very few people at Harvard would brag about going to Harvard since most know better.

Guys, maybe, I've gone insane, but I agree with The God guy... I have a feeling that for few people admission to Harvard is something where Someone else may take part...

i took 2 my junior year and 5 my senior year, but this means nothing.

i know lots of other freshman who took more and plenty who took none.

If you want to say that God has something to do with it, then remember that He'll have something to do with it either way. So you can't say that God is the reason for getting in only. God will also be the reason if you are rejected, which means that He knew you'd be better somewhere else, which I guess helps the sting, actually.

Squiggle,

You only took 2 AP tests? How'd you get in-- what did you do amazing? The divine powers were with you! Also, does that mean that taking 8 AP tests will virtually get me in (even with C-B grades)?

God Bless you Squiggle!

^Lolol I love this thread

What college did you get into jimbob? Were the divine powers with you?
