admission letters

My daughter is also having trouble with her EA and cannot get answers from anyone in the admissions office. She is getting discouraged about her #1 choice -- they aren't communicating with her so now she is questioning does she really want to go there... We could also use any suggestions or positive feeedback. Thanks!

Hey everyone. I got into Villanova EA last year and just wanted to let you know that they usually post the admissions decisions a day or two before their official day (the 20th, I believe), so there's a good chance that the decision will be up the 18th or 19th.

Best of luck to everyone!! Let me know if you have any questions at all.

ecm5227: Congratulations on getting in to Villanova! How do you like your classes, teachers, dorms and classmates so far? Have you declared a major yet, if so, what is it? Thanks for sharing!

Hortensek and Trance: It is quite worrisome to me that Villanova has not been very responsive to your concerns! Are they that bombarded with applications that they do not have time to help with your questions? We haven't had any reason to call Villanova yet but in the past two weeks, when we had to call Loyola (Maryland) about my D's application, we always got a pleasant person willing to help. Have you tried emailing your questions? Good luck...and please keep us posted and let us know if you got any help.

Our faith has been restored... My daughter DID get an answer to her last email to the Admissions Office (sent email on Sunday, received help today) and it seems that all is good with her application. Now we can just nervously wait for the decision! Good luck to everyone else ---

We went throught the same thing. Had a really nice woman help us today though. Finally all done!

Hey newdawn6- I actually chose not to go to Villanova, but I have a few friends there who absolutely love the school.

Villanova is a fantastic school, so good luck to all! If you want to know my stats, etc, I'd be more than willing to post them later.

Oh...why did you choose not to go to Villanova? And where are you going to now. And yes, if you'd like, please post your stats. Thanks!

I got a lot of money from Villanova, but I chose to go to a school where I have a full ride instead. I am a Biochemistry/ pre-med major, and the medical school acceptance rate at the school where I am going is essentially the same as Villanova's. I still truly do believe that Villanova is an absolutely fantastic school, though.

I had a 2100 on my SATs (710 V, 660 M, 730 W), was ranked 6/278 in a very competitive high school, and had a GPA of about a 4.4 weighted. I took all honors and AP classes, and got a 5 on every AP exam I took (I only took Euro, English lit, and Spanish, though). I was really involved in high school- president of the Spanish NHS, Secretary of History Club, CCD teacher, mentor to freshmen, Chemistry Olympics, Science League, taught elementary students Spanish, tutored extensively, played in the band, etc. I was also really big on volunteering and did over 200 hours at a hospital near my house.

My essays were excellent and I visited the campus.

Also, I was invited into Villanova's Honors Program.
