And to the person from Dallas, are you going to the admitted students thing?

I'm gonna go to the recpetion they're having in Dallas but def not flying out to malibu for that one.

What date is the Dallas admitted students thing?

The Dallas reception is thursday, April 7, from 7-9. Has anyone heard how much money they tend to give out?

Waitlisted
1210 SAT
29 ACT
3.99 W GPA
Lots of EC and Community Involvement
Top 10% in Class

Super bummed. Dont even know if there is a chance. And even if I do I doubt I would receive any fin aid.

I was accepted.
34 ACT
3.9 GPA (unweighted)
decent EC
good recs
7 APs

I posted above and was waitlisted. I just called the office of admissions and learned that my school failed to send my updated ACT scores so they had me for a 27 not a 29. Wonderful isnt it?

Jason that should help get you off the waitlist, good luck!!

I sure hope it will help. I was kinda bummed to hear my school made the mistake. I wonder what the course of action will be now. Any ideas? I plan on calling the admission office today to make sure they received the new scores. Is it fair for me to wonder if I will be reconisdered before wait list time (mid June at the earliest)? Anyone with info would be great.

Accepted
1220 SAT I
3.65 GPA
Nice EC's
One particulary good rec

Jason, I am not sure but don't the scores have to come directly from the testing agency. I know they do with the SATs and it is the students responsibility to make sure they are sent--not the schools. Anyway, you may want to have the scores sent directly from ACT and pay a bit more for the quick response if this is an option. I know with the SAT agency you can pay a bit more and have the scores sent overnight. also, I would get the name of a person in admissions and try to work through them.
My son was denied admission with a 1240 best sore at the SAT over 400 hours of community service, two varsity sports, tons of ECs great recs and a 3.8 weighted GPA--probably 3.3 or so unweighted. Oh well, best of luck for a great college careeer at Pepperdine to all of you.

Accepted
1300 SAT
31 ACT
3.85 GPA

Anyone have some great pics of pepperdine and the dorms? other then the ones they always have on the site?

WAITLISTED

1330 SAT
4.3 Weighted GPA
great ECs
very good recs
top 10% of class

....a bunch of us who got into some great schools [i.e.] Northwestern, Cal, UCLA, etc. got waitlisted, or worse, rejected. kind of weird, but I have a feeling that Pepperdine could predict for whom Pepperdine was a top choice...hence the question on the application asking for all other schools applied to. oh well! =]

congrats to everyone who got in!!

Yeah that is a good point for sure.

Son was thrilled to get his acceptance earlier this week, we were very thrilled that he got in. Small rural high school in Oregon, ASB President, Honor Society, varsity baseball and wrestling, internship at DA's office, played baseball in Australia, nominal Catholic, 1310 SAT, 29 ACT, 3.65 GPA...I read the posts of who did and did not get in and am mystefied myself, so many wonderful students applying to so many amazing colleges! My son did write about not being a part of a youth group, since nothing available in our rural area, and how he was looking forward to the opportunties at Pepperdine, and how he has a quiet, firm faith that affects his everyday living and how he treats people and property. So now waiting for the financial aid package and hoping for the best! We will drive to SoCal next week for Preview Days at Pepperdine and Santa Clara.

Congrats to your son! I am hoping for the best as Pepperdine has always been my top choice.

good luck to everyone on the waiting lsit

I went to an admitted students reception tonight and found out that this year they accepted 25% of applicants and the average SAT was a 1280...so if taht gives you some idea of the class. They said it was the most competitive class in history. I'm real excited about the school though, and if they have a reception nearby I'd encourage you to go. It was informative even though I've been to this stuff before and visited campus. O and over 7,000 students applied this year.

Nearly 8,000 applicants according to the guy in Dallas tonight.
