instead of emailing, its better to call to talk about your admission

Ok, but I really don’t know what to say. Can someone help please?

Just explain the situation. The admissions counselor isn’t the one that decides if you are rescinded or not.

Really? Then who does? The director?

Anyways, I just called the office and I left a message for my admissions counselor. I really hope that this won’t affect me. The lady I talked to said that my counselor will see if these D classes will affect me in college or just lower my GPA and since this is a language class, I don’t think I would get rescinded for that. And plus, I’m not taking any more language classes in college so I don’t think it would matter that much. Spanish is the 4th language I’m trying to learn, my admissions counselor needs to understand that. Haha, anyways, thanks for your guys’ help. I really really appreciate it.

what are you waiting for, call them asap! by far the best thing to do at this time.

Tell them, about your situation (the D’s) again and see what they have to offer you.
from what they told you they said that they only waive one excess, in your case you have two. I dont know, but doesnt look too good. Go call them now, and tell us how they responded.

It is a honors class so they may let it slid. Lets see how much spanish u learned" Diles que esta classe era tu trece classe de language y quisas te dejan eir"

“Tell them that this was your 13th language class”? I think either you said it wrong or I’m translating it wrong. I don’t know what the second part is saying. “And you wanted to…”

Yea, my Spanish is bad, I just don’t understand it. I had a really really crappy teacher.

wanted to attend?

eh, I guess at this point it’s matter of convincing them, nothing else

What do you mean convincing them? About me wanting to stay really bad?

I forgot the r after the e thats my bad. Well just brag how this was your third language and if possible say that you will take the UC spanish placement test

lol “Diles que esta classe era tu trece classe de language y quisas te dejan eir”
trece=13
tercera=3

Trece=13
Tres=3

And yea, thanks Jason, I’m gonna try that. It’s actually my 4th language though. I’ll try to see if I can take the placement exam if worst comes to worst.

sure good luck

Thanks so much for all your guys’ help. I called my Admissions Counselor yesterday, but she wasn’t there so I left a message. She called me today at 9:00 A.M. and I asked her if those 2 D’s will affect me at all. She said that it will only affect my GPA.

She also said that the only way I will get rescinded is if I get a GPA below a 3.0, which I haven’t for both semesters. She also said that after she checks off my transcript and sees those 2 D’s, she will calculate the GPA and then send it to the director for a final decision. Thank God I took so many AP/Honors classes this year. So basically for anyone worrying about being rescinded and are in my situation, this is what’s gonna most likely happen to you too.

congrats , I was scared that I was going to be resided too. A week after I sent my transcript I got a email from my counselor I was so scared when I opened it it said pretty much that Im not their problem any more that my file was now with CHASS public policy division and good luck at ucr.

Wow. I’m glad to see that I’m not the only person in this horrible situation. We’re pretty much in the same boat since my I just found out my admission to UCI has been withdrawn, due to a bad case of senioritus giving me an F in my first semester of AP English (although I passed with a C second semester). I’m considering an appeal but have very little hope that it will work because I don’t have any new information such as a medical excuse. I’d really like to know that spending 2 years in a cc in NOT my only option and that there is another route I can take.

its too late to do any thing CSU’s have closed admission so has all UCs

I don’t know anything that you can do other than appeal and beg for your spot in the UC back. There is a reason they wanted you so, just have to make them realize why they chose you to attend their school.

I too was also in danger of being rescinded, but I asked if I was able to attach a personal statment to my re-review packet. It worked. Just state your reasoning, mistakes and how you plan to fix those problems.

Where did you retake AP English? I just got a D in it and really need to retake it too.
