Does anyone know what the chances are that this will happen? I had a 3.9 when I applied but I may have only a 3.1 or so for this semester. It could be higher. It will bring the overall gpa down to 3.6 - 3.7 or so I guess. I'm just wondering if there has to be a very serious decline for Michigan to revoke my admission or if a small drop would do it.

If you have like two or more C's on your semester grades, they ask you to explain the decline in grades. But unless you had a serious medical issue or some people died, I don't know what to tell you. One thing's for certain; if you have any D's or F's, you're pretty much F**cked.

It happens to about a dozen students a year, but I don't know if there's a firm guideline for what triggers it.

I definitely won't have any grades below a C, and I should have at most one C. I may be able to bring it up to a B. In the admissions letter they said they could do this and I was surprised. I thought it was settled!

Nope, colleges ask for a final transcript as proof of your HS graduation so that means they can see your senior year grades.
