I'm a senior in HS right now, and I was recently accepted to UM. I was deferred with a 3.6 and a H/AP filled schedule. I got a 4.0 my first semester senior year, and now I'm at about 3.5 (this will go up to about a 3.7). I have been hearing about kids that get their admission revoked because of a decline in performance their second semester. Should I be concerned? Sure, its not that big of a decline, but lets say it drops to a 3.5. One must also take into consideration that UM recalculates the GPA, so that could result it a slight drop as well. So, should I be worried? Yeah, I have a bit of senioritis, but I'm still motivated to do well and I'll bring the grades up by the end of the semester, but it won't be another 4.0. I guess I'm worried because I was deferred at first, will UM check my 2nd semester grades?

I believe Michigan's rule is that they will revoke if you have 2 C's or one D or F. Also, you're supposed to contact them if your grades significantly drop.

last year when i was a senior and on my way to michigan i got a c in math and they contacted me telling me I had a decline in my grades and that my advisor would be speaking with me during orientation, which never happened!
Also as far as revoking you with a D or F, a friend I met told me she got an F and had to go talk to a panel and write letters but in the end was still excepted. needless to say you better have a good excuse lined up if this does happen to you, most of the time i think they end up letting you come.

They say that they'll revoke your acceptance, but in reality is happens very infrequently. Also I don't think they would even think about revoking an acceptance to students whose new GPA is >2.5.
