Hey guys I just have a question on Cornell admissions. If you are applying to a program like AEM in the Ag school, is it a lot harder than to apply for a different major in the Ag school? Or are you just applying to the school and competing against everyone applying to the school?

Hey whoisthis.

Admissions does consider what major you are applying to. I know many people in the AEM program and they have given me very positive feedback. It is a popular program which might make it more difficult to be admitted. However, this varies from year to year depending on how many people are interested in the program. The more there is interest, the more competive it becomes (just like any othe admission process). Overall, Cornell is looking for great students in all their majors within the different schools.

My best advise is to apply to the major which interest you most. If you’re really not sure, go undecided. Don’t worry so much about how hard it is to get in, but try you’re best and show the college why you would contribute to it.

Good luck!!
