Admission to GWU School of Media and Public Affairs (SMPA)

I'm a prospective student for The George Washington University's School of Media and Public Affairs.

I'm wondering whether or not I'll be able to get in.

GPA:

Weighted: 3.4865
Unweighted: 3.2703

Weighted Class Rank: 141 of 399
Unweighted Class Rank: 153 of 399

ACT: 32 Composite
SAT: 1950 Composite

What makes me stand out as a candidate has been my political activism.

Over the course of the last four years, I:

Was the State Director for a Mainstream Democratic Party Candidate for President
Managed Multimedia Productions and New Media for the same candidate for President.
Was promoted to Deputy Campaign Manager on the above campaign.
Have worked as a new-media consultant for local non-profits.
Was the youngest Legislative Aide in my state's history.
Managed and worked on several local campaigns, ranging from County Commissioner, to Mayor and City Council, to the State House.

My recommendation letters include one from a teacher, as well as one from a former US Senator and a current State Representative.

How do I look for admission to this particular school? I wrote a decent essay, but I'm worried that my grades may disqualify me, coupled with the fact that this school is particularly selective at GWU.

your GPA is a bit low for your ACT score. Hard high school? If so, GW should already know that and you will have a better shot. SMPA is very selective, as your know. Apply ED or EDII would be helpful as well. Much higher percentage of acceptances in those rounds. Pretty sure ED has passed but EDII is still an option. EC’s look good, rank just so so, but I dont think GW makes that big a deal out of rank. Good luck!
