Admission to University or Major

<p>Does the University of Rhode Island admit students to the University overall or to a specific major? Also, is a student still admitted to the University if rejected from their chosen major?</p>

<p>Specific major but it is easy to change. My daughter switched twice even before she had her first class! (As long as it is nit Nursing or Pharmacy) </p>
