Hi I'm a international student who applied to U of I and they seem to have lost my transcripts. Results are suppposed to be out this Fri.

I've contacted the admission counselor and after exchanging a few emails (a slow and ineffective process) all I could get was that my transcripts were still not found. I didn't even get an answer for any possible actions I could take. The documents should be in the school as I've sent a registed mail and have the proof of delivery.

Does anyone have any experience on this? Would I be wasting my time if I send an express mail over now?

Well, I’m in a similar position. My transcripts haven’t yet made it to UNC Chapel Hill. However, Chapel Hill’s decisions aren’t til end of March. However, I would still send it. It can’t hurt, especially if you are qualified.

In your email to the admissions office, did you tell them that you have proof of delivery? Is there a signature on that form? Can you fax it to them? I had a registered letter vanish once, but when I gave the details to the organization involved (a bank) they could figure out whose desk it was on.

Email the admissions office again. Ask if the transcripts have turned up. If they haven’t, ask what is the best way to send them, and who you should send them to this time.

I’m also an international student and sent my transcripts on December 1st.
I never heard of them (sent many emails) nor did I see any change on the online application until February 5th, when they finally updated my application saying they had received my transcript on December 15th.

This is a very sloppy way to handle applications and really bothered me.
If you really care about U of I then I suggest you send your transcript again or insist vehemently for them to investigate what’s happening.

Yes I told them I have the proof of delivery. The email replies were taking so long that I had to call them up. Evantually, all they did was to say they would check for my documents AGAIN.

My transcripts are still not found and decisions are due this friday.

Yes I can’t agree more. The way applications are handle in this school is really sloppy. After my repeated emails and a call, all i could get was that my transcripts are still lost and there is nothing they could do about it. I am quite disapoinnted in way my application is being treated after spending so much effort in it.
