ok, so if colleges were to withdraw your decision, when do they do it by? I heard they have to see your final year transcript first, but you need to confirm by the beginning of May, and your final grades aren't out until way after May or early June.

You heard correctly. That’s why it’s so important not to slack off senior year; your admission can still be rescinded after May 1.

wait, then if your decision does get rescinded, then that means you’ve got nowhere to go right? You can’t go to your other schools because admission confirmations would already be over.

The point you have to be at for your admission to be rescinded is generally awful enough that any school you would have retreated back to would have also rescinded your acceptance anyway. If you do something awful enough to get rescinded, I’m pretty sure you either head to community college or take a gap year to reapply in the next cycle (probably not a good idea though, as you’re not likely to get in again if you failed/did something bad enough to get rescinded/etc at the end of senior year).

^^^^^^
Unfortunately, that’s not necessarily true. If you drop from a 4.0 to 3.0, your local state school is unlikely to rescind you, but Harvard might.

Basically, yes. You might be able to find a few late deadline schools or community colleges, but getting rescinded basically screws you over.
