I had a good gpa my first semester but my 3 nine weeks gpa is a 2.7 because my math grade is terrible. I wanna try and get into an Ivy League school so what are my chances? Could that one time affect how colleges look at me?
The chances of admission to an Ivy is so remote even the excellent credentials that you are more likely to be rejected even with a problem grade in math now. You have time to find very good schools as an alternative to an Ivy. Don’t put your academic eggs in one basket.
Have to a agree with @zannah, the likelihood of anyone overly qualified to be accepted to Ivy leagues vary year to year, usual very slim. Focus on improving you GPA in the coming years, and apply anyways…who knows you just might get lucky! That being said have safety schools, and a good back up plan!
There are 3000 colleges in the USA. One of them will be right for you. Do as best as you can in HS and then you can look for a college that fits you.
