Admissions + ACT question! Urgent, please answer!

<p>I'm submitting my UC apps tomorrow morning and just recieved my ACT score today - I got a 34, which isn't bad. HOWEVER, I recieved a 6/12 on my essay.</p>

<p>So should I sent my ACT scores even with a 6/12 on the essay section? Would that ruin my chances of getting in to such schools as UCLA, Berkley, etc?</p>

<p>(btw, all the commentors wrote were something like 'essay is written clearly and very well but is too short'. i wrote 4 paragraphs. how much do those ACT people want you to write?!)</p>

<p>AFAIK, UC bases their calculations on the composite score and scores for individual sections. I do not think they look at the essay score specifically.</p>

<p>And 34 is a great score...</p>

<p>PS: I wrote 2 pg for mine when I scored a 10.</p>
