Just curious, I have nothing to hide but...do UCs do background checks? Do they ask if you have a misdemeanor, felony, traffic violation etc when you apply?

not really. 1% of the time, ECs are verified though for la and b

They don’t have the time (and now not the money) to check.

That is good for someone I know who has a drug felony. Not me. :)

It affects FA though ^

Yeah but he’s just worried about admissions.

yeah there’s a little section on the application that asks you that

UC will check ur background using the Greehouse cleaning system, so be wise to not deceive ur school.

greehouse cleaning system?

Yes, basically UC just type in ur social security number then they will know all the academic record in all the cc that you attened. They will definitely rescinde you if you did not report a college in UC application.

Wth is “greehouse”?

as I stated in my original post, I’m asking about criminal background checks, not academic ones. :D

The first thing they’ll do is crosscheck your name and profile with those of all registered sex offenders around your neighborhood. Game over for you mate.

That is good to know they check for sex offenders… I don’t want to be in class next to a sex offender…

as a sex offender, i take umbrage at your comment.

@Bulenight

lol, you meant to say CLEARINGHOUSE, right? ;)

I read a document and they do random verification of the application information for 10% of the applicants across all UC’s. By verification, they ask you to submit proof of your involvement in X club or X accomplishment. Needless to say, academic information is always verified through transcripts.

to transfer student or freshmen only? and when will they ask u?

You’re good, they ask around January if memory serves me right
