Hello! My question regards admission to Berkeley as a music major. For background info, my UC GPA is 4.43, SAT is 1420, and my main extracurricular is piano (winner of state, national and international competitions, performed internationally)., though I do other things as well (surf, dance in a dance troupe, lead a history club, volunteer at a university lab, etc).
Essentially, my question is how impacted is the music major at Berkeley? And given that Berkeley doesn’t even take a music supplement, does what I do in piano really matter? I am aware that Berkeley is not considered a good music school; however, my thinking was that as a music major I would have access to the practice rooms, an d if I declared a second major later such as history, I would be able to continue my interests in music while also studying history which I really enjoy. So far I have been admitted to UCSC, UCD, UCSD, and waitlisted at UCLA.
