I think my writing is above average even for WashU, I met the admissions officer (emailed her kindly too), and have become an exponentially better student even though my academics seem below average (Had a weighted of over 5 last year and had better grades Q1 than all but 8 students).

You can be brutally honest or generally encouraging. I just hope to get a better idea of where I stand (and maybe get some hope).

Let me know what my admissions chances are for WashU ED II 2024

Forgot to add AP Lit to senior course load!!

I’d say you have an average chance of getting in with your grades and ECs. (GPA good ACT not so much) Therefore your personal essay and WashU supp should be done very well to give you a boost. I wouldn’t worry so much about

The 31 ACT might be an issue. My kid got into WashU with the same UW GPA, but higher SAT (2300 old SAT).

The 5’s in APUSH and Language are pretty impressive. Which demonstrates that you write well and the percentage of students who get a 5 on those tests is ~10%.

If there is enough time, take another ACT.

Do you have any hooks (URM, low SES, possibly recruited athlete)?

It’s probably too late, but I think you should have declared as a History major.

What math level did you complete, since Economics requires some sort of Calculus, at least for WashU. It doesn’t need need to be completed in high school of course.

No time to take another ACT and no major hooks. However, my Reading score was abnormally low and the English and Apush 5s are hopefully meant to offset that.
