Admissions decision Appeal

I got accepted to Penn State Lehigh Valley as a premed major. My decisions letter said there were to many people in the freshman class and a lot of good candidates had to be accepted to branch schools instead of UP. If I called and asked to have my application reevaluated as undecided and for the summer program, will they reconsider? Does anyone have any tips or ideas I can use to have my application reevaluated? Penn State is my top choice, and I really wanted to go to UP.

An appeal is when you have compelling information that was omitted from your original app — a traumatic event , diagnosis, or disability. What you are talking about is a reconsideration. Your app will be reclassified as a post-Nov 30 app, you go back into the pile and take your chances with whatever the current admissions gpa/test scores are. (as in all schools, it’s harder to get in the longer you wait).

Not everyone who asks will be reconsidered. PSU seems to be increasing the number of students who are offered non UP campuses, so I’m gonna guess and say reconsidering apps for DUS may also be less automatic than in the past. You are right on the edge, though. Call and ask to speak to a counselor and maybe they can tell you what your chances are.
