I have also applied to UConn. Should I expect a decision in the mail or email?
Did anyone else get an email from UConn urging them to apply for financial aid before March 1st? It had my name at the top but I think it was just a generic email they sent out (hey, I am looking for ANY glimmer of hope ;
@vipper Yes, we got that e-mail too. I like to think that they wouldn’t want to waste a “stamp” sending out an e-mail to someone who wasn’t going to get in, but my better sense tells me it was just a mass mailing to the entire applicant pool. Also, probably just a way of reminding everyone that the UConn admissions office is still alive, since most people have already heard from Penn State, UMaryland, UDel, etc.
The Facebook page that my daughter is a member of is starting to get some activity with acceptances…as is Twitter…and the 1st week of February is almost over and we haven’t heard. I am getting tired of checking her status several times a day so I called Office of Admissions to see if they update more than once a day…specifically what time they update. The woman told me they only update overnight …2 or 3 am she was adamant that Freshman will not hear until March 1st…seemed strange since I know kids are hearing now! She was not the friendliest…so I didn’t get to ask if they update over weekends…Wish they had live admission chats like Penn Stat did…I think Rutgers had 1 last night as well…
Well, according to our local newspaper, a wide-receiver from a local high school just signed on to play football for the Huskies yesterday, so his status probably updated overnight. The paper says he is 195 pounds and 6’ 4", so I’m guessing that the admissions office is going in descending order of height or weight and we will have to wait a bit longer.
Awesome @parent829 !
@parent829…thanks for the chuckle! yesterday was national signing day…at least for football…maybe other sports too. My daughter is only 5’ 2"…I can’t wait that long!
I’m assuming most of us will hear around mid march, hopefully earlier.
UConn’s website shut down for “regular maintenance” last night and will stay down until at least 2pm today. Does that mean some decision will be posted today?
Most probably means they are fixing a glitch on the servers or adding a new feature… @jjh2003
It was working for us last night and again this morning…I did notice they added info about it being shut down in March… around the 7th…a friend teaches HS English in a neighboring town and she knows a girl at her school that applied for Business at UConn and did not get accepted, so they are releasing decisions besides just transfers and Arts.
The wait is killing me! Last year, a lot of kids found out in early-February, even though it said March 1st. I hope the rest of us find out soon. Is it usually in the mail or online first?
UConn admissions taking too long? #BetterCallSaul
I’ve heard back from all of my applied to schools except for my #1 - UCONN! I can’t take the suspense!!
^same I’ve heard back from 7/8 schools and uconn (my #1) is last
I emailed my admissions counselor asking a question about scholarships, and in his email back to me he said that I should hear back towards the end of the month. I don’t know if that based on my major or where I’m from (NH), but I’m assuming most people will hear towards the end of the month.
Uconn is my #1 too, i’m really hoping we dont have to wait all the way till february or even later. There were huge delays on last years thread.
I can’t wait!!!
Anyone get any sort of status change? On last year’s thread a lot seemed to be happening at this point…
I got nothing. Is there any chance at all they start releasing them sokn
