Admissions Decisions Class of 2021

@class0f2017 - The earliest you will hear back is the Friday before Thanksgiving weekend. You have great stats for admittance and Fisher College.

Our son applied on Sept. 1st. He is applying to the Ag dept. He has 2 acceptances already but waiting to hear from 4 school. Good luck everyone. We loved our visit to OSU

I saw that one person said on this post they were in review already? Is this true, I thought there was no review until the Nov 1st deadline had passed.

D’s says under evaluation or something like that.

Evaluation

Mine still says applicant :’(

I am listed as Evaluation. The only issue I have is that first my ACT scores took a while to get in, and now that they’re in, it only has my 26 and 28 from April and May. I got a 29 in September that also was sent automatically by the ACT to OSU, but it is not listed on my application status. Should I worry about this yet?

Updated to 29 right after I posted this. I hope all of you are on campus next year!

@Class0f2O17 - my younger son just met with an OSU admissions counselor at his high school on Monday who told him decisions would start to come out around Thanksgiving. That is also when my older son heard who is now a sophomore at OSU. He was a direct admit and received the Provost and National Buckeye. He heard about scholarships around 12/20/2014. If you are interested in finance, I recommend applying to the Business Scholar program. My son is also a Business Scholar and finance major. The Business Scholar really helps when studying for classes…you already have a built in study group and it helped him get into multiple clubs and a business fraternity. Due to the amount of students who are interested in joining these were really competitive, but when you are in it is an academic advantage and really helps on your resume for internships/jobs. I suggest applying to business school clubs/business fraternity as a freshman so you can use your high high school stats. All club applications ask for a resume, hs GPA and hs SAT/ACT score.

Glad to have this forum, and I am in the evaluation s stage as well

@crazyboymom The scholar program does sound interesting, but I’m applying for honors instead of scholar because it is required for the Eminence full ride scholarship. I will really look into the business clubs/frat though, thanks for the heads up.

Submitted my Common Application on 10/22 and all materials were received as of yesterday… currently under evaluation! I applied for the Scholars program, and I really hope to make it in.

Applied yesterday and my portal says my ACT scores and my high school transcript have not been received even though I called OSU a week before applying to check if they had the free ACT scores I could send out through the ACT website and they told me yes. Really nervous as to why neither of them are showing up as received because my counselor submitted my transcript through the common app nearly a month ago :frowning:

@GradesForDays - They could be in a processing status. At this point, you can only worry about things that are in your control which are: - Check with OSU again. Keeping checking the portal at OSU. Check with your counselor. Also make sure that you used the right ACT code to send your score to OSU (I speak from experience on this one  ). Good Luck !

@dreamed I called them today and the admissions counselor checked for me and told me my ACT scores had not yet showed up. I believe he said the transcript showed up, but wasn’t in the system yet. I just checked the ACT website and Ohio State is put in with all four of my scores for one of the free score reports. How long should I wait until I should contact them again?

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH TRANSCRIPT AND SCORES. OSU is definitely still processing. I resent transcript and scores but OSU said they were received before these second orders were even processed smh

@GradesForDays - If it was me; who did not want to miss the Nov1st deadline and OSU was my 1st pick, and since Nov 1st is 6 days away, I would follow up everyday. And watch the OSU portal like a hawk …Sorry if anyone thinks that’s overboard but that’s my opinion. All of this is subjective from one individual to another. OSU maybe 1st pick for one but not important to some …So at the end of day, how important is Nov 1st and OSU to you…

Does anyone know if theres a FB group yet?

Well don’t know about a Facebook group but I can definitely relate to Dreamed.

@mkat12 - There is a FB group called “Ohio State Parents”. It was started by parents of students accepted for Class of 2020 (as in 2015-2016 applicant’s).
