Admissions Decisions Class of 2021

Yes I am curious who gets admission decisions in the first wave?

I just submitted the application fee kind of last minute, and I got an email saying the transaction could take up to 2 days to process before the transaction appeared on my account. I don’t see it anywhere on my dashboard and I’m not sure where information about the transaction might appear. The money was immediately withdrawn from my checking account. Kinda nervous that it will take longer to process for whatever reason and they won’t accept my application for EA. :confused:

It’s not clear to me that there is any defnitive pattern to how they release decisions in terms of who hears in the first waves and who hears later for the set of applicants who applied prior to 11/1.

@class0f2017 - To answer your question - "Who gets decisions in the first wave? High stats? URM? Less competitive majors? "

I had friends who had applied to Fisher (got acceptance in 1st wave), I applied to COE (got acceptance in 1st wave).

You all are almost there, hang in there…

@ThatOneWeirdGuy It means that even if you paid your application, it might appear in your to do list (on the right side of Applicant Center). You can also check what items are completed by clicking to Application Status. Do check it regularly though because they do not send you an email if something is wrong; the application center however will reflect it.

Since you completed the payment before the deadline, I don’t think that will be an issue.

If someone could chance me, that would be great!

When do we find out?

I’d say 85% you Gucci

I heard next Friday the 18th they would start to be Released

So they roll out the acceptances and not hold them to mid December for a group release?

Yes acceptances initially come out in waves on Friday afternoons starting the Friday before Thanksgiving. There might be a two week break before the next wave and then weekly waves after that if I am remembering correctly from last year but you can check out last year’s admittance thread for more details.

I think my GPA my kill me off for admittance, but I have some hope that OSU’s desire for diversity and my heavy EC’s may balance me out a little bit. Best of luck all!

TAsmith98 I Think You Have a High Chance Of Getting Accepted.

So this friday should be the first wave of results?

@BreBre235 that’s what I’ve been told

I’ve read that in the past usually applicants start finding out the weekend before Thanksgiving so I assume we should start hearing about decisions on Friday. Hopefully! Good luck to everyone!

Wait EA applicants will start hearing next week? Will people that applied earlier most likely hear first? This is really early for an EA school.

@class0f2017 hopefully!

My application status said evaluation, so how long until I receive a decision? It’s been under evaluation since the first week of Nov.

My daughter OOS Engineer (34 ACT, 4.1 GPA) is hoping for the National Buckeye and Some Additional Merit Scholarship money as this is the only way we can afford being from OOS. I realize that she may be hearing about it in the next few weeks. She also applied for the Morrill Diversity Scholarship. How would that work? Do they let you know of the Buckeye first, then maybe the Morrill in a few more weeks/months? Or do they wait to see if you get the Morrill before they let you know about the Buckeye as it would be either/or?
