I have finally been denied after waiting 8 months!! 
My son denied after waiting forever. Really donât understand the admissions process. He is ranked very high in his class, rigorous schedule, and good ACT. He has all boxes checked for holistic too, but kids ranked below him and with less extras admitted a long time ago. Very sad for students who have worked hard over the past 4 years, doing exactly what OSU stresses. Hope you are all happy where ever you go!
My sonâs online status changed today. He did not get into main campus. They offered him Newark. He will be going to CincyâŠgo Bearcats! Their co-op engineering program will put OSU to shame anyway.

Learned of status change today by checking Applicant Center but only got branch campus.
Applied to college of Engineering for mechanical.
ACT 28 GPA 3.78 Worked part time 3 years throughout AP dominant schedule at a high ranking Ohio high school.
No email yet, but Iâm sure itâs coming. Just to warn some of you, the look of the acceptance online made it seem like he got in. Only when we looked closely at the campus did we notice it said âNewarkâ. The explanation at the bottom of the page said, âCongratulations! You have been accepted to The Ohio State UniversityâŠâ no mention of campus at all. Look closely at the campusâŠif you are local, I guessâŠbefore getting too excited.
Just want to spare you the let down after a few seconds of âOMG!â
My status says that my application to the Columbus campus is âinactive.â Given that the status of my Mansfield application was listed as âAccepted,â Iâm making the assumption that I was denied from the Columbus campus, but Iâd like to be sure. If anyone can confirm this, let me know!

Does anyone on here know if you can transfer to OSU after one semester of another college in the fall?
mine said inactive too - insulting way to âinformâ an applicantâŠgoing to Wisconsin Madison Engineering instead which is what I wanted more - and is higher ranked program - but the in-state OH state tuition would have been hard to pass onâŠ@Australia2000 you can transfer after 1 semester I know several kids from my high school that have done that - it is not hard to do at allâŠ

Lots of ECâs, part-time employment, dual-sport athlete, several programs, etc
Sad day, but I ultimately would have decided to go with the school I have set my sights on, Ohio University. It has the best program for me (as I am studying journalism).
One thing I have to question is the email I received from admissions. I checked my portal out of curiosity today and there it was, my admission decision. I just received an email stating I received admission to the Newark branch, and not even two minutes later, I received another email stating I was not chosen for the Columbus campus. Further into the email, it states, in exact words, " I am pleased to offer you admission to the Ohio State University at Columbus ". It later mentions âOhio State University at Columbusâ several times, in several contexts. So, where was I accepted?

@444444 Thatâs exactly what mine said XD I read it at first and was so confused then I saw my letter from OSU Newark and figured that it was just typed wrong
So weird, a school like Ohio State should have its stuff together, right?
Should all those with the error mixup with campuses call Admissions for definite clarification?
@slayd yes we were worried for nothing!! now its just a matter of getting all of this stuff done again since i had it all done and a room picked at OU. Lol. Do you know if they are still letting us pick roommates or do we have to go random

URGENT QUESTION!!! Iâm about to take the math placement test for Ohio State (main campus). I need to score into placement level L. Does anyone know how many questions I have to get correct to get level L? I canât find anything regarding this. And also, please say if youâve taken it this year or you took it in a previous year, as things may?? have changed since. THANK YOU!!
I took it and it wasnât bad. There were about 4 that I wasnât sure about and I guessed. I got an L.
