I would say a different zip code/post office makes a big difference in how the mail is processed. Not surprised at all one person in Westchester received a packet today and another didn’t. That goes for CT, too, which borders Westchester. Our town has 3 post offices so mail is processed and distributed differently for each delivery area, all within 10 minutes apart. Not to mention our new mail carrier comes at 10am, whereas the old one came at 4pm or later. I would think this would make a difference as well.
On another note, I did some research and over the past five years a total of 70 kids applied to ND from our public high school (650 graduating class avg each year) and only 12 were accepted of those 70. Most of those 12 acceptances applied EA. All students had SATs in 50% range or above and GPA of 4.0 or above. This is a very competitive high school that sends a lot of kids to ivys. Community service is required (and done willingly I might add) of all students, so that wouldn’t be an issue. I’m wondering if ND does have a cap on how many kids they will accept from each public high school, or if they favor some schools over others. It could be the fact that only 5 of the 12 accepted actually attended (again, this is over a 5 year period). It’s hard not to speculate during the waiting period!
In New Jersey, four applicants from daughters school received waitlist/rejection letters on Monday. She is the only one still waiting. Thinking it may be a good sign that she hasn’t heard yet while those not accepted heard two days ago. Good luck to everyone.
@sunil6 Is your daughter’s school Catholic, public, or private? There seem to be so many waitlisted and there’s even a tweet about it today. Who can possible wait until after May!!! Good luck.
Do we know if they send the letters in any order? Ex: rejections & waitlists first, then acceptances
I’m from central Ohio and still have not received a letter :((
I’m from Central Ohio too and still have not received a letter @faithflyer3412 though everyone else at my school has received a rejection or waitlist letter.
@faithflyer3412 I don’t know if they send them separately but they may take longer to process. Two kids in my school (Chicago suburbs) got waitlist letters on Monday, but me and another kid still haven’t gotten anything. I’m hoping that’s a good sign
