MLeigh, I would feel better if some had been rejected though, 'cause that would mean they're sending both things out at the same time, meaning we have an equal chance of acceptance and rejection.

^ does not compute

um, could you explain your logic a little bit more?

It's actually really simple. If only acceptances were sent out, then one can be more worried about being rejected since he/she was not amongst those accepted. If both acceptances and rejections were already sent out, then one who hasn't received anything yet would not be so much worried, since he/she would consider Wesleyan sending both decisions out in mixed batches, rather than seperated. It's all psychological. Understand? Good.

But, at least from what I can see, the volume of acceptances has not been too high. It's not like NYU, where loads and loads of people have gotten in already: from the number of people who have posted here it seems like a very small group. Clearly they haven't sent out ALL of their acceptances -- obviously, having a big envelope would be nice, but I wouldn't be too worried about it just yet. ;-)

I'm pretty sure they sent the mail out early to higher level candidates, so that we'll keep thinking about Wesleyan & the red folder sitting on our desk. I received an early letter, and I admit that the psychological force of having it is amazing. I never really considered Wesleyan seriously before now, but I can't stop thinking of it, because it's the only college I've heard from.

(for the record: valedictorian, very solid ecs, 2300's SAT etc. within EASY driving distance of Wesleyan)

Congrats forum! Make sure to come to Wesfest and check us out before you decide on any other school.

Did anyone get anything in the mail today???

nothing today. :(

me either :(

yeah, me neither.

To all of u nervous hopeful Wes pre-frosh. My D is a freshman at Wes. If u go to Wes president Roth's blog on the Wes website u will see that he comments that admission dept was sending out RD's this week. So stop fretting that u have been forgotten. Good luck to all of u. If u get in make sure you go to WesFest. My D went and that weekend allowed her to feel comfortable choosing Wes over the other lacs she had been accepted to. She loves everything about the school.
