I found out yesterday that I’m deferred, whatever that means. I have 3.5 wgpa, 29 ACT, 1280 SAT from an all girls school and submitted everything by 11/5/09. I’ve heard that if you’re undecided your chances are slimmer. Did I make a mistake?

woahhh by the looks of it …I have no chance at all ! mines still on eval…
But best of luck to the rest of you !

does anyone know if there is an official time of the day when they update the decisions? i would guess 4 or 5pm et, but that is only speculation. any ideas?

Yesterday my mom checked my status for me at 3 and there was nothing, but when I went back at 4:30 I found out I was admitted. So 4PM maybe??

and abbyg you should’ve gotten in! I had the same gpa with a 28 ACT and 1160 SAT. I’m OOS; are you in-state or OOS?

Congrats agehr91!

So yeah, I’m officially taking the word “evaluation” out of my vocabulary. Nonsense, I tell you.

i hear you street. what are your stats? and in or oos?

3.5 GPA, really low SAT score (best not be mentioned), and average EC’s. And yes, I’m OOS. My hopes of getting in are decreasing by the day, but whatever. I’m most likely getting into VCU (still waiting to hear from them, too).

Like any of this matters anyway. I plan on doing graphic design and you know what they say, all artists end up living in a box ahaha. I kid, I kid.

Street, I plan to major in graphic design too! Haha.

I’m “in state” and Deferred with 29 ACT and 3.5 and selected the exploring exploring for a college & major. I guess my only hope is that all the brains apply early and only the medians apply later.

Accepted today!(finally, been evaluation since mid december)

College of Engineering

OOS 29 act 3.9 gpa

I posted this in another thread, but I’m in-state – with a 31 ACT, 3.64 at a top Ohio public school, lots of APs, lots of clubs, and I had a good essay.

Deferred.

I’m in shell-shock right now. Why?

yeah i know ur pain… well not exactly. I had a higher gpa, lower act, applied for engineering and got deferred. I got into purdue for engineering oos… I thought at least my home flagship would accept me, oh well dang act. what did you apply for?

(im really shocked you got deferred, idk how they could defer someone with your stats)

For those of you who got deferred with what appear to be terrific stats, my guess is that you will be admitted. It could be that they are waiting to see this tail end of applications later in the application cycle before you are admitted. In my son’s home state school, he had a friend deferred with a 3.7 GPA and 33 ACT. Crazy!!!

My box changed to “Decision” and when I click on it, it won’t load. Does anyone know what this means???

unless that kid with the 33 act is at ohio state, it’s comparing apples to oranges. for ex, unc chapel hill is ridiculously competitive for a state school. avg gpa of 4.4. but if it this occured through ohio state then yeah it’s bull

Mine said that too. If you click on the button below to see your application details, it tells you. Mine just said that I was denied and that I could go to any of the regional campuses if I choose.

oh shucks, i just got it to load and it says “We regret to inform you that you have not been admitted to The Ohio State University. You will receive further information by mail. Thank you for your interest in Ohio State.”

Do only instate kids get the regional campuses?

You have to live in Ohio to be eligible for a satellite campus.

And I bet these in-staters with awesome stats are getting deferred b/c OSU wants OOS $$$$ in these economic times. My stats were worse and I’m OOS and got in.

hey guys i have a question…

im still a junior in HS but do you think i have a chance of getting in?

GPA:3.4 W
SAT: 1750/2400
ACT 27

some ECs, would get good recs… 4 honors classes, 5 AP classes, my high school is in the top 4% nationwide

so what do you think? i think i would be deferred… but its okay, majority of kids who get deferred will get… just need to be patient

any feedback?

You still have a semester to better your GPA and retake the ACT, before you start applying for colleges. It’s premature to ‘chance’ you so early.
