@TytoAlba OSU says that they do not consider major when looking at applications. That’s probably only for DIRECT admit, which barley anyone ever gets for engineering unless they have top stats.
@4MomOhio, I am also a female and applying for CSE. Still have not received a decision.
My daughter did not get her decision yet either. Not too happy, but it is what it is, now we wait until the next round comes out and by then she should have a few more as well.

No need to panic or be frustrated by not getting results yet… as @4momOhio said, they’re not being elitist, they just have a LOT of applicants. I am bummed as well to not have received a decision yet, but as long as yours says evaluating, it’s not an issue, it’s just that they haven’t gotten to it yet. We knew going into the application process that there would be about 3 waves of decisions, and they randomly select who they review first. That means about 33% of us (probably?) are still waiting for a decision. While it would be ideal to have heard back already or for everyone to hear on the same date, the pure volume that they have to evaluate is just so extreme that it’s not possible for everyone to receive it when they want it.
@XzarPak Congrats on your acceptance! Don’t underestimate your credentials—A 3.95 gpa and 15 CCP classes with a 4.0 gpa at Miami University is very impressive and must have more than counterbalanced your lower SAT test score. I’ve heard OSU admissions considers top gpa and high course rigor as a better indicator of college success than test score. Also, I believe OSU considers major and you being a female interested in pursuing physics as a liberal arts major and who does programming as an EC —-I bet that also helped your admissions. You don’t mention if you are a first generation college student or an underrepresented minority to increase diversity or recruited athlete but that would have helped your admissons as well. Ohio State uses holistic admissions and it considers a number of factors.

@trackmbe3 woah, not as a liberal arts major, as a science major. I feel that liberal arts is used loosely to talk about broad subjects, I think of them as the English/history classes. I plan on getting a BS not a BA. I’m trash at the liberal arts/humanities, and to me they aren’t that interesting. I didn’t even know a BA in physics meant anything lol. Also, I’m just a Caucasian female with one year of soccer… so I’m not much on that side of the spectrum.

@jaguar12503 in the past, the dates on rolling admission were Jan 11th and Jan 28th. Since they do it by month now, I’m hoping January the 11th, but it might be January the 18th. No one is sure. Does anyone know the time they released it last year when it WASN’T rolling admission?
@SiglerOSU2019 I’m sorry if I came off as rude. I was just trying to point out that my UW GPA is far, far lower than that of the average, so many people who have scores above 1400/30 and GPAs of like 3.5 shouldn’t be very worried.
For anyone wondering about the Honors Program decisions, this is what they say on their website:
“If you are admitted to the Ohio State University Columbus campus and indicated an interest in the Honors & Scholars Programs on your university application, you will move on to a competitive holistic review process.
Decisions regarding acceptance into the University Honors or Ohio State Scholars Program will be sent via email to your address on file with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
We send notifications on a rolling basis beginning in mid-January and ending in April.”
So it may be awhile. Additionally, like others have stated before, not getting your decision in the first two rounds doesn’t mean anything other than that they haven’t gotten to your application yet. They have a ton of applicants, and it’s impossible to review so many in a short period of time. Don’t give up hope!
