Admissions Discussion/Decisions - Class of 2023

Applied on 29th of Oct. International student status, did HS in US since Jan2018. Awaiting results

It felt like “draft” weekend in our house! My son was admitted to the College of Engineering at OSU as well as Miami University as well. We are still waiting to hear from Case which he applied ED, that notification should be coming any day now, fingers crossed! OSU is an amazing school, congratulations to everyone that was accepted so far!

@Buckeye990055 I’m sorry to hear you were deferred. You have higher stats than me who applied engineering. ): I have very low hopes of acceptance with all of these very high stat engineering majors getting in.

Gpa: 4.19
ACT 33

Strong ECs
Lots of volunteering hours…

I saw a couple. My daughter has been deferred. She is in state.

My son was admitted to the college of engineering,

Does anyone know the next release date???

@equationlover I’m guessing January 11th or 18th. Very frustrating but the only thing you can do is get comfortable with it and focus on other things.

We’re still waiting, too.

Just curious, for those who are still waiting, what college/discipline did you apply? If it is college of engineering, specify which discipline (eg mechanical, electrical, etc).

@STEM2017 OSU is really the only school that I want to go to in OH. I mean I applied to others, but OSU is my top choice. I HOPE it’s January 11th but it seems that they get back from break on the 4th, in which case I don’t think I’d be plausible to somehow get to ALL of the decisions done by the 11th. I hope so!

This is really driving us crazy! My son applied to OSU engineering physics on 11.1 but still have not heard back. He also applied for honors . He has not heard anything yet.

I was also recently directly admitted to the business school.

Has anyone been admitted for architecture?

@equationlover everyone is admitted to OSU just not always main campus their first year. You could get addicted to one of their satellite campuses first year and go to main campus the next year. ?

@hawkdude27 I was just admitted as an architecture major yesterday!

D’s status is still evaluating. OSU is #1 choice. Curious on people’s opinion here as to what they think her chances are with the following data. Applying to the college of arts and sciences with a math major.
ACT 25
GPA 3.884
Rank 18 of 101
26 CCP courses with a total of 92 credits
Associates degree in mathematics earned at the end of her junior year of high school
STEM honors diploma (first ever at her HS)
Internship in the chemistry lab at the water department
Varsity athlete
Assistant manager at work
Sacrificed a little with GPA/class rank trying to standout with college classes knowing she does not perform well on standardized testing.
