Admissions Discussion/Decisions - Class of 2023

My daughter was accepted in the first wave last Nov & received the Maximus & Nat’l Buckeye in Dec. I recall scholarship letters being sent thru Feb

MY S accepted in November and received merit shortly afterwards… OOS

@drewosu2023 My son was accepted in the first round and meets scholarship requirements, and has not yet heard. Not concerned as we expected February…

i applied end of september and still have yet to hear back, but all my friends and everyone else who did EA at my school have already heard back. should i be worried?

@mommamo1 FYI meeting scholarship requirements is not a guarantee for merit money

@collegemom9 I get it. Still not worried.

@PinkPanther12315 What I was meaning was that no admissions officer will want to work over their break. So they really have only like a week to release all final decisions, which doesn’t seem likely. As I recall, they got out the Friday the last round of decisions were made. Unless they start earlier than OSU students, which seems unlikely.

So I’m GUESSING it’s next week, but does anyone know for sure if it’s January 11th or January 18th???

@Itsfranziska My daughter applied 10/30 and hasn’t heard yet. Nor has anyone from her class (we are in state, at a very small private school and she has about 19 classmates in her grade and about 5 of them applied). While the waiting is FRUSTRATING beyond belief, I wouldn’t worry. I only hope we find out one way or the other this Friday. I guess if not, then it’ll be next Friday the 18th!

Honestly, I wish they had released their decisions the way Miami of Ohio did (they laid out a very clear plan as to when applicants would find out — Early Decision on Dec 1, Early Action 1 on Dec 15, Early Action 2 on such and such a date, and so forth). My daughter was accepted Dec 15th.

Or I wish tOSU would do it the way U of Cinci is doing it (we are waiting on their decision too)—they have a “national decision day” of January 18th…no one except I guess athletes knows yet if they’ve been accepted to UCinci.

I know it has something to do with the HUGE number of applicants. And we are happy that others know their decision fate…guess we just wish we had been in one of those first two releases. If we had been, I’m sure I’d be signing a different tune

Best of luck to you and try not to worry (I know, easier said than done)

Update: I just went through last year’s thread for like 15 mins lol. Last year, the decisions were released on the THIRD Friday of the month each release batch. I’m guessing it’s not going to be this week, guys.

@equationlover if they were released the 3rd Friday of each month, then this year they have been released the 2nd friday of each month (I’m pretty sure). This Friday is the 2nd Friday of the month.

@oj2018 In November they were released on the third week, and in December they were released the second week. However, due to the winter break, I’m thinking it’s going to be delayed until next week.

They went back on January 3rd.

How does it work with admissions? Lets say you apply to business school, but get deferred do they offer admission automatically to undecided arts and science?

Accepted during December round of decisions. Received an email last night stating acceptance into honors program.

I found out that I selected scholars, mistakenly, and they’ve changed it as of this past week. When do you think that I’ll get a notification?

@SiglerOSU2019 Not to discredit you, but where did you find that? Also, even if that were true, that would only give them six days to make the remainder of OSU decisions. It’s unlikely. I’m just stating what I’ve seen for OSU students. Like you, I am also waiting for a decision. Sadly, when I looked at decisions from last year, it seems like there were A LOT of deferred/denied in the last round of EA decisions. I don’t think decisions are coming out tomorrow, to be honest. We can only hope, though.

It makes no sense how one from my high school who has applied EA to Ohio State has found out. We all are last round I guess, but that does not mean we would all be deferred/denied.

.

If you applied by November 1st, you should have a decision by January 31st according to their website.

@littledrose Please re-read what I said. I said a LOT, not everyone. There were only like 15-20 or so posters, not as much from the other batches, so that could be it. Not sure why there are so little posters for that round.

Last year’s admission thread is on this sub-forum, click back like two pages I think.
