@buckeye1278 Yes, someone said admissions confirmed that decisions are coming out this Friday and next Thursday. Although it seems like other admissions officers are not willing to talk, they just say decisions will be out by January 31st.
For those wondering about housing - the $100 acceptance fee puts you in line first when housing contracts come out. That said, some things to consider:
Honors and Scholars students must live in specific dorms according to their programs.
All EA students will have an opportunity before RD students.
Likewise, admitted RD students will get an opportunity before waitlisted students.
Finally, the time that you get your housing contract isn’t as important as when it is returned.
Housing attempts to match as many preferences as they can when assigning, but be sure to put your strongest preference FIRST. there is no guarantee you’ll get it, but the chance is better.
Finally, remember that second years will have already selected their rooms before you even get your contract. So chances are you will get placed in a hall that is “less popular” (barring membership in Scholars) for your first year.
It will be fine no matter what. Nothing a little decorating can’t fix!

My daughter is still awaiting her EA decision as well and my email to admissions mirrors what everyone else got. A generic “EA will here by the end of January” reply. Her ACT is good but GPA lower and she is Biology\Pre-Med IS. We will be on campus tonight to see her older brother in a show and so hoping we will have some good OSU mojo!! Good luck to everyone else still waiting. If nothing tonight, waiting to next Thurs will seem like an eternity compared to the last 3 months.
What time are decisions normally released??
Yeah same here I checked last night at midnight and still nothing. Is there still a chance of hearing today?
Decisions usually begin to come out at around 3:30, so we still don’t know if they’re gonna come out today.
I am nervous.

Good Luck to those still waiting. Hopefully today is the day we will all hear. Not too hopeful though after the stats listed above. If only 7,000 spots available for two more EA waves (tonight and Jan 31) and RD it’s not looking good. I’m predicting a lot of deferrals and denials in the last rounds of EA. Deferrals also for the reason OSU Admissions seems really behind in reviewing apps this year and will push the EA apps they did not have time to review to RD.

@collegedadto3 Don’t forget that engineering applicants had to apply by Nov 1 deadline. There was probably a big spike in applications for early action due to the Engineering applicants!
@oj2018 Is that a change from last year or had that always been the case?
For those of you that have been admitted did the “Holds” and “To do” status change on that first page of “Applicant Center” (where it shows Admission Status)? I thought I remember someone posting that it changes to “Final transcripts” or something?? I am so crazy waiting that I’m trying to figure if I can find out my answer even quicker than I can hit the “application status” button! I am losing my mind!!!
@kesnyder5 Under To Do it changed to links for final transcript and one to pay acceptance fee. However those did not update until a few days after my daughter was accepted.
@collegedadto3 I remember people previously saying this is the first year they had Engineering applicants apply by November 1st. ( I did not apply engineering, I’m just going off of what was previously stated on this discussion board)

Does anyone know if it’s true that deferrals and denials with be given out first and acceptances later tonight?
@Kimmy04 I believe in the past that they did start with deferrals/denials and then went to admits later in the evening, but that is just what I remember from my year OSU c/o 2021
