Admissions friendly to lower-range GPAs?

<p>I remember reading in the CollegeBoard college handbook that somewhere around 20% or so of first-year students had a HS gpa of between 3.0-3.49. My GPA is around a 3.0 UW, 3.3 W. Do I have a shot at getting into Miami, or should I see it as a reach?</p>

<p>If it helps, my SAT score is 1180/1600 or 1950/2400
I have pretty good ECs and I was very proud of my essay. I'm also near certain my counselor wrote a good recommendation.</p>

<p>I would consider it a reach due to your GPA and SAT scores, and being OOS.</p>
