I'm interested in attending university in the USA but I didn't take the SATs or ACT because I thought I wasn't really good enough...now I'm hearing from people who go to Ivy league schools, teachers, principal, etc. that I have a fair shot at Ivy league schools...
**
1) Is it too late to take the SATs/ACT?
2) Would it look bad if I took a victory lap and applied NEXT year...being a year older...so that I have time to take the SATs?
3) Do YOU think I have a chance for high ranked US schools?**

What are your grades for 9th and 10th grades which also count here, and what’s your class rank?

92% average in grade 9
94% average in grade 10

We don’t have class ranks but I’d say that I’m in the top 5 of 300 students

Then with appropriate scores you would certainly have a shot at top schools. Better shot if you’re from outside a major city where they don’t see many applicants from. It’s not too late.

How is it not too late?

I haven’t taken the SATs yet :(

You can still take the SAT or ACT in October, November, or December.

Isn’t there a limit to when you can submit SAT scores - especially to top schools?

All three of those dates work for top schools.

You’ll have to check their websites but I’m pretty sure you can still sign up for October, November, December (possibly even January) and still be OK–just as long as you apply RD instead of ED.

You should realizes also that without the proper SAT scores, you won’t have a chance at top schools. For that reason you may, as your other thread says, want to take another year off if you don’t get the SAT scores you need.
