<p>Hey,</p>

<p>I've been following this forum for a few years now, but have only posted a few times.</p>

<p>I'm going into my senior year this fall and am Canadian, from Ontario. My high school does not have awesome guidance counselors, especially when it comes to US universities.</p>

<p>I'm looking to see if there is any possibility I could get into the following schools:
- Wesleyan
- Cornell
- UC Berkeley</p>

<p>I'd also be interested in the types of merit scholarships I could get at these schools if accepted. Or if anyone knows of similar schools where I could get substantial help financially.</p>

<p>At my school we receive our grades as percentages, along with our averages:
In Gr.10 I had a 97 average, with two Gr. 11 classes (Bio and Math)
Last year I had a 97 average first semester, 98 second semester (received 99 in both Gr.12 maths)
I also received the Gr.11 bio award, and both Gr.12 math awards.</p>

<p>I took the SAT in June, but didn't do as well as I hoped in the math section.
CR: 740 M: 680 W:740</p>

<p>I may redo the SAT in the fall to up my math score.</p>

<p>I've been a member of the school's community volunteering club/group since grade 9, being the leader last year and this coming year. Member of the student council last year and this year. On the Reach for the Top (scholastic team) since grade 9. I was involved in Yearbook in Gr. 9 and 10. I've also had a few other leadership positions that are specific to my school.</p>

<p>I will hopefully have 200+ volunteer hours by this November</p>

<p>I'm a little weak in the EC area... not at all athletically able, but for the groups I've been involved with, I've been 100% committed. </p>

Berkeley: Match (if you can pay full freight, high match otherwise)</p>

<p>oh~~ yeah~~ after cali gov went bankrupt, UC schools became much easier to get on for full paying international. As for as I know, I don’t think uc schools have fin aid to internationals</p>

<p>UC schools are easier to get in for full-paying out-of-staters but how much easier largely depends on the UC campus. </p>

<p>Berkeley, UCLA and UCSD (in that order) are the ones where ability to pay matters most.</p>

<p>What are your courses? You have gotten excellent grades, which is awesome, but it would be better if you can list out your course load.</p>

<p>My course load last year was Gr 12 Advanced Functions, Gr 12 Data Management, Gr. 11 Chem, Gr. 11 Physics, Gr 11 french. </p>

<p>I did Gr 11 Bio in grade 10. This year I have Gr 12 bio, Gr 12 Chem, Gr 12 physics, Gr 12 french, Gr 12 Calculus. My other credits are English and social studies courses (history, Psych, etc)</p>

<p>My school doesn’t offer AP courses, but I have taken all of the hardest classes that are offered, some a year earlier.</p>
