Admissions Interview

Hi! I’m very new to using this site, so I apologize if this has been answered before, but I was wondering whether or not UR requires or just encourages admissions interviews. What does the process for setting that up look like? Thanks!

UR interviews are informational and are not considered or required for admissions. They are usually conducted by upperclassmen who work in the admissions office. An interview will not hurt or help your chances for admission, but are a great way to learn more about UR, its academics, and student life.

UR interviews are, as stated above, not considered during admissions. However, if you would like to do an interview to learn more about the school, you can request an alumni interview in your area or an on campus interview with an admissions intern.

This page has information on on-campus informational interviews and a link to the online form:

This is the form to request an alumni informational interview:

This page lists what cities alumni interviews are offered in:

Okay, thanks! That’s a big relief! Because I’m at least 3 hours away from any of the cities on the list where alumni interviews are offered.
