Admissions Interviews over the Internet

skype is cool
you get to play chinese checkers
card games...
tic tac toe...

fun
although ive only played those game with my friends...

^
You don't wanna win the interviewer in those games....
I rather lose on purpose...lol

I think it's a great idea, I just think I'd personally feel uncomfortable talking to an alumni of a school I'm interested in via my computer. Something about that just weirds me out.
But it'd be great to see it added as an option for others.

I think this would be awkward as hell.

It would be funny if some colleges conducted interviews using only online chatting without webcam.

Ultimately this will only lead to more embarrassing interview stories, of which I will have the pleasure of reading on CC

I think this would be awkward as hell.

Me too, I probably wouldn't like it.

i am new ...just wanted to know how everything works..and yess i hate interview but at the same time its not that bad

Doing one in real life would be ok, I think it may help my chances at some places, but on a webcam would weird.

I had an interview earlier this year via skype, and it turned out pretty well. It does take a little to get used to it, but it's much better than paying airfare for an on campus interview.

Air tickets would probably cost less then webcam/high speed internet/new computer etc etc.

Students from rural areas do not have access to all this technology.

Yeah, they'll probably see my messy room.

as long as the room is clean, i dont see the problem.
also, you would have to tell family members to quiet down

but I think its a good idea, especially for schools that get International Applicants.
