Admissions is almost set with applications, apparently.

This article states that there is only 2000 applications left to send in the mail. The GPA of the average accepted student so far is 3.8 and the SAT average is 1,264 (M+R). Lastly, It takes a while to get the applications in the mail so don’t be surprised if it takes a week or two. Happy picking!

are the 2000 letters acceptance or rejections? btw do they send acceptance and rejections at the same time or they do acceptance first and rejection last. Im in state but I’m still waiting

@Mostapha‌ - The article says “2,000 more slots open” so just acceptances. I think they don’t send them in any particular order, please be patient as I think they should come soon.

@Greenman57‌ Thanks for the Article. So how many total applications left do you know? and following my stats do I have a chance to be among the 2000, I have a GPA of 3.71 and Sat of 1540 (1010 CR+Math) came as a refugee and wrote good essay + good ECA.

@Mostapha - Assuming you are from a non-western european non-east Asian country it is quite possible will accept you but it depends on a lot of things. I believe that you should be able to transfer into UMass Amherst at a later date.

Greenman57 this is interesting. I’m surprised It only 2000 because I know 3 applicants including my son who haven’t heard anything. Obviously that number includes the unequivocal acceptances only. Not waitlisted or accepted to 2nd choice etc. we r part of the deferral group and still waiting after almost 5 months…

@SQBrit - I am not an expert but it could be possible that they don’t send out acceptances and otherwise as soon as they decide on them. UMass has a lot of things going for it but sending out quick admissions news isn’t one of them. lol Those 3 applicants you know could have been accepted two weeks ago and not gotten their letters yet…
