I Applied to Carnegie Mellon and i took the ACTs and the SAT Subject Tests but never the SAT reasoning test. More than 2 Months ago they recieved both my SAT Subject tests and ACT results but AS od TODAY, it says that they recieved my SAT Reasoning test scores when i never took them. If you convert my ACT scores into SAT scores the scores are exactly equivalent. For example, i got a 32 on the ACTs (a 36 in math) and it said i got an 800 in math and a 620 in Critical Reading. The scores match up. I was wondering if they generally do this for comparative purposes or if they just made an error.

The same exact thing happened to my daughter. She emailed them about the staus page error, they said they'd fix it, but it is still there. The "supposed" SAT scores posted are uncannily close equivalents to her actual ACT score. Now that I read your post, I bet that they do this, as you say, for comparative purposes.

I just called the Carnegie Mellon Office of Undergraduate Admissions and i asked them about the problem and they put me on hold for about 5 minutes probably until they asked someone what was going on. And all i got in response to the problem was that they would take care of it. So they probably want to leave it just for comparitive purposes. Since i know that very small percentage of people take only the ACTs, they probably have an ACT to SAT conversion chart that they use.

OK, thanks for the info.
