Admissions This Year

@Fawnleaf That probably is why they have such a high dropout rate! I would never be able to make it in 3 years lol! And I’ve never been to Boston but I wish you good luck!!

Worcester has a great reputation for nursing-I did not apply because of location…Worcester is avery industrial city and just not for me, but overall reputation is excellent.

@collegeadvice2 Great to hear, thank you!

In réponse to the “Merit” Scholarships question, my guidance counselor explained that lots of “less selective” schools offer Merit Scholarships as a way to “recruit” higher SAT students because they want these students and the higher scores help them move up in the rankings and attract stronger students next year.

In addition they use Merit Scholarships to discount tuition and it makes the students feel wanted – that’s why Regis, Salve, Fairfield, etc. and other schools offer everyone Merit (really discounts on tuition)…it would be hard for them to get students to pay over $50,000 year, …but the BIG merit money goes to the 600 or 700 plus SAT kids…NOT ME! LOL! PS I have a friend who got big bucks from Simmons - so it is possible if your Sats are really high. Good Luck!

If you don’t mind my asking, how much money did your friend get from Simmons? @collegeadvice2‌

I will ask her…but much more than the $15,000 most of the other schools are offering and she did not have much financial need…so, truly merit $

Ok thanks  Yeah, Simmons is pretty generous! But I guess if they weren’t, people wouldn’t be able to afford to go haha
That goes for any private school though
