I recently took the GRE Chemistry subject test on Nov 2009 and just found out that I have done terribly in it. =(

My scores were only of the 36 percentile. =( I have not taken the general yet (although it is coming soon on 22nd Dec).

I have thoughts of applying to graduate schools in Canadian but I'm having 2nd thoughts now. Can I ask do I still stand any chance of getting in or should I just conserve my efforts and do not apply any?

My grades in school were just ok, having only a 2nd upper honours in Chemistry. So should I continue to apply or retake the test?

Thanks and regards

No replies? Does retaking the GRE subject test helps?

what do you want to do exactly? There are plenty of good Canadian universities. I guess it depends on your goals.

I would want to have a MSc if possible. I just finished my GRE General and my scores are:

1) Verbal = 520
2) Quantitative = 760

Are these scores good enough to negate the poor subject scores? Please advise.

do canadian schools usually require the GRE? if not, then i wouldn’t submit the subject test score. either retake that or don’t submit it at all. your quant score is almost perfect, which seems good, but most students in the hard sciences have perfect quant scores, so you may want to consider not sending your general scores either if they aren’t required.

Very few programs in Canada require the GRE - are you sure your program of choice does?

yah, my programs need the scores! And I already send them my Subject score coz i really thought I did well…

but alas … so what am I supposed to do now?
