Admissions

I applied to IU on 10/24 on 11/15 I got an email saying that they reviewed my application but they were requesting better test scores. Right away I signed up for the next ACT which was in December. I was able to only improve by a point. Do you think I have a chance of getting in?
I am a white female, OOS, majoring in interior design, I have a 3.5 GPA, I improved my ACT to a 22, I was captain of the varsity soccer team, Secretary of the yearbook club, silver award in girl scout, a lot of work and community service experience, and I have a lot of experience in Interior Design. I have a really good essay, supplements and teacher recommendations and I have shown a lot of interest in the school because it is my number one.

Do they want portfolio? if optional or not required you may want to send one…

I emailed them asking and they said they don’t need it

I don’t think a 22 will cut it.

“don’t need it” as in, they will not consider it, or it’s optional?

They will not consider it

ouch. Try schools that weigh portfolio more, just in case.

I already got into other schools its just that I really want to go to Indiana, do you think I have a chance?

22 is kind of low, that’s the thing. If portfolio got in the picture, it changes things admissions wise. My own daughter applied for architecture aeons ago, and some schools were no-portfolio. Those schools tended to require higher GPA/SAT. Have you tried taking the SAT instead? some kids find one easier than the other.

Keep in mind that Indiana super scores so maybe that helps? Their bottom quartile is < 24 so you probably have a shot if a super score brings you up a point or two?

I did try taking the SAT but my score was not as good.

yea I think when I super score it, it will go up a point or two if I did it correctly
